Installation
(Back to Top)The Quick Lock Sink Mount is the standard mounting assembly for all Insinkerator disposers. The installation is pretty straightforward. You should have no problem doing it yourself.
The instruction manual is clear and comes with illustration. If you need further help, you can watch the tutorial videos in the manufacturer website.
For those with an old Insinkerator disposal, you can keep the sink mount and flange. Make sure it’s in working condition and not worn out. Doing so will definitely cut down your mounting duration.
One thing to take note is that the package does not include a power cord. Unless you're using direct wired connection, you have to buy a new cord or use back an existing one.
Remove a drain plug first before you install the new unit. That is for the dishwasher drain connection. Remember to take this step if you are planning to connect your dishwasher to the disposer.
Sound Output
(Back to Top)Badger 5xp disposal does not offer you superior sound insulation like the Insinkerator Evolution Series. They classified the noise level as "standard".
We interpret it as typical sound coming from a normal garbage disposal. But do take note that this model has a powerful 3/4 horsepower motor.
Insinkerator Badger 5XP Grind Operation
(Back to Top)All Badger disposals have a Dura-drive induction motor.
This model has a 3/4 HP heavy duty motor.
The manufacturer stated that it can handle most food waste. The grinding makes use of one stage grinding technology.

Our Review & Price
(Back to Top)Insinkerator Badger 5XP seems to be a decent piece of garbage disposal.
Although it doesn't have the multi-stages grinding technology, the 1-stage grinding plus the 3/4 HP motor is enough for normal kitchen needs.
So if you’re not looking for noise insulation feature, you can get this model.
Moreover, the unit price is reasonable and affordable for those with a small budget.
One main concern is that the unit may crack and leak. But only a small group faces this problem. Most of the consumer doesn’t have this issue.
