Consumer Reviews | Pros & Cons | Summary & Price |
Mounting Of Unit
(Back to Top)Doing the installation is a breeze. First timers, who knew nothing about plumbing, also could do it themselves.
Many users said the comprehensive manual play a part in helping them get the job done. The detail instructions also include the directions to dismantle your old disposal.
The unit is heavy, so you might need two people to hook it onto the mounting hardware.
Quick Lock Sink Mount is used to install the unit. You just "twist it off" to remove and "twist it on" to mount. All Insinkerator disposals use this mounting hardware.
Thus, when you replace an existing Insinkerator unit, you save time and effort. That is, if you use back the existing sink flange and mounting hardware.
We found the following items are not included in the package:
(1) Power cord
If you replace an old garbage disposer, you could use back the existing power supply cable. Inspect the whole cable and make sure it's safe to use.
If you've a new home or do a remodeling of the kitchen and intend to use a wall outlet under the sink, then you need to get it separately.
(2) Cable connector
To hold in place the power supply cable that enters into your disposer termination point.
(3) Plumber's putty
The putty is to seal the flange onto the sink drain. You apply it on the underside of the flange rim.
(4) Wire nuts - 2 nos.
The nuts for the wire connection between the disposal wires and the power supply cable.

Noise Level
(Back to Top)Most household users are satisfied with the sound insulation. Some even claimed that they hear almost nothing when the disposal is running.
In fact, a few of them have to test the unit several times to confirm that the disposal is functioning.
They are also pleased that they can hold a normal conversation and grind the waste food at the same time.
Insinkerator Evolution Essential uses the SoundSeal Technology which has 3 versions. The 3 versions are quiet, quieter and ultra-quiet. This model uses the "quieter" version whereby the manufacturer claimed that you can hold a normal conversation with another person with elevated voices within the same room.
They also added that the advanced sound insulation plus the anti-vibration components cut down the noise levels to at least 40% when compared to others disposals.
The SoundSeal Technology consists of the following components:
- Anti-Vibration Mount – remove sound transmission and vibrations from disposal to sink.
- Anti-Vibration Tailpipe – remove sound transmission and vibrations from disposer to discharging piping.
- Quiet Collar Sink Baffle – obstruct sound level coming from the disposer throat below.
- SoundLimiter Insulation – insulation wrapped around the motor housing to limit noise level.
Grind Operation
(Back to Top)Many users are very satisfied with this unit performance.
They commented that the unit grinds up everything they tossed inside without any problem.
The unit uses the MultiGrind Technology which has 2 stages for grinding food scraps.
It made use of a GrindShear ring to do the grinding and shearing of all types of difficult food scraps.
Waste food is reduced to tiny particles and run down the piping system to prevent clogging or jamming.
It also has a 3/4 horsepower Dura-Drive induction motor.
This motor offer you more power than standard disposals.

What Are The Feedbacks From Consumers?
(Back to Top)Positive Reviews
This product received many positive reviews. Many users commented that the unit is very quiet when running. In fact, some of them have to remove the sink baffle to check it's actually rotating inside.
They are also satisfied with its performance. It’s fast and grinds almost everything they dispose of into the unit. There are many happy customers who are readily to recommend this model to friends and family.
Negative Reviews
A few users mentioned that the sink baffle tends to slow down the drainage of water. Some of them removed the sink baffle to resolve this matter. In our research, we found that this action is not recommended and you should avoid doing so.
The sink baffle has two main objectives:
- It's designed to form a small puddle of water on top of baffle. So that it minimizes noises coming out of the disposal throat during grinding.
- It protect (a safety feature) you against waste food flying out of the grinding chamber.
The slow drainage of water could be the result of waste food collected in the sink baffle. Clear all waste food by pushing (use a wooden spoon) them beyond the baffle and into the disposer. By doing so, the water should flow smoothly down the drain. Click here to see today's discount price.
